/ The 52st Annual “Münchner Bücherschau”

Nov 10th to 27th 2011 at Gasteig
Open Daily from 8am to 11pm

Daily show, picture show, art show, sports show -  all of these aspects are being united in the Munich Book Show. The world of politics, science, the arts, sports and literature are being portrayed in approximately 20.000 books shown on display.

With 15 hours everyday and free admission, you can immerse yourself into history, get informed about current flows, get inspired and informed on the diversity of knowledge and the conversation between 2 bookends. In one evening, you can follow a lecture of György Dalos about the doom of the soviet empire, the next enjoy an amusing evening with Gaby Hauptmann reading from her latest novel, travel the Arctic with Greenpeace, enjoy Wolf Biermann live or one of these actors and sport legends Eva Mattes, Christiane Paul, Rosi Mittermaier and Michael Gross. You take part in their lives, find out interesting news from the art and theatre scene and the world of the film or sport elite.

The Munich Book Show, with its enormous selection of books and the many colourful evenings with different authors, brings the rich world of fantasy and knowledge, offered by books, closer to the entire family. The multifaceted children and youth program together with the class and action programs, the big names in children and youth literature like Paul Maar or Andreas Steinhoefel, attract thousands of kids and youths to the Gasteig each year.
